We are always happy to help our clients, so when The Break Charity approached us to ask if they could borrow some display equipment for their exhibition at Dingles Motor Company in Norwich, we were more than happy to oblige and lent them 30 of our 2m x 1m panels. Their 2015 GoGoDragons trail is currently being organised and the first big step is deciding what the dragons will look like; a daunting task considering the many entries to choose from!
The Break Charity are a Norfolk based company that work to improve the lives of children and young people; including children with learning difficulties and also children in care. Last year, the charity raised money and awareness by organising a GoGoGorillas trail around Norwich. The large colourful gorillas were placed around the city and helped to raise awareness for the charity; families and members of the public searched to find all 53 of them, tweeting their pictures and progress. The gorillas were eventually auctioned off and raised an outstanding £272,000!
Next year Break are hoping to achieve the same success with the dragons. Local artists and businesses have created many designs for these dragons but they cannot all be chosen so they decided to exhibit the ideas they had received so far to help make a final decision. Which is when they decided to give GGS a call!
The designs of the dragons vary greatly covering such themes as floral, mechanical and caricatures of celebs. One of our favourites is the Back to the Future inspired dragon, dressed as Marty McFly! In total there will be around 180 dragons; 100 mini dragons with designs created by school children and 80 full-sized creations that will be sponsored by businesses. Now all the charity need to do is decide which dragons they like best!
