Well 2015 has been and gone so we’re taking the chance to reflect on what an amazing year it was for GGS.
The year started off with stand builds, photography, design and a few small changes…
We said a farewell to the last original director of GGS, Peter Griffin, who retired in April after working hard for the company for the last 40 years. He left it in the skilled hands of Chris and Duncan who have managed to make 2015 a great year for business!
But we couldn’t say a goodbye without saying a hello too; to newest GGS team member, Chloe, who joined back in February to help Emily with the day to day running of the office. (Rumour has it she makes a cracking cuppa and occasionally some delicious cakes!☺)
In September, GGS celebrated a wonderful 40 years in business (a month early, while the weather was still nice) with a trip to the Congo Rapids Adventure Golf at Bawburgh, a quick trip to The Belgian Monk on Pottergate for swift beer and an excellent meal at The Iron House in Norwich. Looking back, we had a good chuckle at some of the old photos we found and shouted about it on our real birthday at The Norfolk Chamber B2B Exhibition…What else?
The exhibition team had a mad 2015 with stand builds all across UK and Europe for clients including Broadland Wineries, Zenos Cars, The Big Prawn Company, Sealskinz, Kalsec and Cryptomathic. There’s no sign of slowing down in 2016 either and we have a massive 23 stand builds booked in so far!
Our relationship with Winsor Bishop Jewellers has continued to grow, photographing some of the finest diamond jewellery and luxury branded watches. We even bagged ourselves an invite to an extremely enjoyable and sparkly night out with jewellery designer Sean Leane ☺
We joined in a 2 year sponsorship programme with the excellent MadderMarket Theatre helping out with printing and mounting their production posters and theatre signage and even large graphics for stage sets. In return we have seen some amazing productions from Anthony and Cleopatra to Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and are looking forward to seeing Neil Simon’s comedy Star Spangled Girl at the end of the month for which we are the main sponsor.
As well as working hard we had many laughs, ate way too much cheesecake (thanks to Indulgence Patisserie in Colchester), drank lots of tea and coffee and of course, thanks to Flaming Galah’s on Ber Street, ‘Friday Pie-Day’ has become a regular event. Yum!
